Why Cybersecurity Management?

Over the past decade, the role and significance of Cybersecurity within an organization and that of Cybersecurity leaders has evolved immensely. Cybersecurity leaders are business leaders and must position themselves, their teams, and operations as business enablers. Transforming Cybersecurity from a support function into a business-enabling role requires a broader view and a stronger communication skill set than was needed previously.

Cybersecurity Management combines strong business foundations with technical knowhow and an intricate understanding of security. There is an immense shortage of technical cybersecurity personnel with the requisite business skills to transition into management roles. The career opportunities for someone with these skills is enormous and growing at a fast pace.

Conveniently located near the company headquarters for the world leader in digital security, AUS is uniquely positioned to offer its students access to superlative professors, internships, and company visits that are unparalleled by any other institute of Higher Learning.

Degree Overview

AUS is bridging the gap between technical and management expertise. At AUS, we recognize that cybersecurity is not just a technical problem. It is a business problem. IT, Policy, Legal, Sales, Human Resources, and Corporate Governance must work in tandem.

All courses are taught on-site by AUS professors, who are distinguished thought leaders in the fields of Cybersecurity, Blockchain Technology and Business Management. The curriculum is comprised of ever-evolving theory and real-world practical examples, and internships are required for Master candidates during the Spring term of each academic year.

While at AUS, students will acquire the necessary skills to adapt and innovate within an ever-evolving industry. Through a combination of theoretical and practical experience, they will gain the skills needed to sell their ideas while establishing, implementing, and overseeing a cybersecurity structure for an organization.

Applying theory to real-world scenarios, they will complete several practical objectives, such as creating a security strategy that combines governance, compliance, and technology viewpoints and will learn how to handle matters pertinent as intellectual property theft. Moreover, students will gain advanced knowledge in organizational structures, communication, operational business processes, and the legal framework for cybersecurity policy.
