AUS Fall Term 2019 Ice Breaker

On Thursday, October 10th, AUS students, staff, and faculty all attended the icebreaker at Fun Planet near the university. This traditional event in a casual setting has always been a great opportunity for old and new students to get to know each other over a game of bowling. Faculty and staff also mingle and enjoy themselves outside the classroom.

The month of September was the start of the fall term as new students from all over the world arrived at the La-Tour-de-Peilz campus, leaving behind native countries such as Russia, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. There has been excitement in the air as the students have become part of the AUS family, studying in a cozy, international environment, in small-sized classes with professionals in the field who have strong ties to the industry.

The programs allow for reflection time and leisure time activities to suit each season. 4-6 hours a day and Fridays off create an important balance in the student’s life. The small class sizes provide personal attention and guidance. Students are able to clearly identify their path be it as future entrepreneurs, owners of family-run businesses, or managers in leading companies.

As the evening came to an end, students, faculty and staff shared some moments of laughter and a final round of beer. It was the start of a special educational journey for new members of the student body, a chance for older students to welcome their new friends, and for all to feel the essence of AUS.
