Tuition Fee

All tuition fees are in Swiss Francs (CHF). One CHF is roughly equivalent to one US dollar.

Registration Fee

All students must pay
a registration fee to secure their place at AUS.

Living Costs

Costs associated with living in Switzerland as a student are not covered under the tuition fees.

Fee Payment

Tuition fees are payable to the university by bank transfer, online via credit card or in person.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a payment?

Tuition fees must be paid at least two weeks before the start of the academic program. If the payment is not completed, students may not enroll and start classes. Payments can be made by bank transfer, online via credit card and in person. Ask a Global Enrollment Advisor for further information.

When are my payments due?

Students must be a minimum tuition fee equaling the total of one term before the can be enrolled as a student at AUS. Once the student has arrived on campus, they can discuss an appropriate payment plan with the administration team. Tuition fees are usually due on a termly or yearly basis, in exceptional cases the administration team may permit monthly payments.

Do international students pay a different tuition fee?

No, as the American University in Switzerland is a private institution all students pay the same tuition fee regardless of nationality.

I want to study at AUS, but can’t afford the full tuition fee cost?

AUS offers several scholarships which students are assessed for when they submit their complete application package. For more information visit our dedicated web page for Scholarships.

Refund Policy

If a student enrolls and begins a program and then wishes to withdraw, students must advise the administration team in writing as soon as possible. Any refund will be made in accordance to our Refund Policy. Please note this process may take a few months.
