Apply to the American University in Switzerland

If you would like to study in the picturesque Swiss Riviera to discover your passion and be prepared for the modern business environment, then you’re in the right place. The American University in Switzerland considers all completed applications and will contact applicants within a reasonable period regarding the outcome of their application.

Rolling Admissions

AUS operates a rolling admissions process which allows applications at any point during the year.

Multiple Intakes

Start in one of our three intakes; September, January or April.

Transfer Credits

Students wishing to transfer have the possibility to transfer their current credits to AUS, subject to an admissions review.

Request…

Request a copy of our application form via our website. You will receive an email from our Global Enrollment Advisors with your application form and further details. Click here to request your application form.

Complete and Submit…

Complete all relevant sections in the application form and submit to AUS, one of two ways; send complete application form to a Global Enrollment Advisor who will upload to your applicant profile or email directly to the Admissions team at info@agsb.ch

Gather...

Once submitted, you must then gather all relevant documentation and send this via email to your Global Enrollment Advisor, or the Admissions team.

Note: Applications will not be reviewed without all required documentation.

Review and Decision…

Once all the required documents have been received the Admissions team will review your application. This can take up to two weeks, or longer during busy periods. If you have any questions on the status of your application, we encourage you to contact your Global Enrollment Advisor.

Confirm…

If you are accepted into an AUS program and have decided to start your studies with us, you must confirm your place by paying the registration fee.

Support...

Once you confirm your place with us, you will be able to access support with your visa, housing and pre-enrollment. Our expert Admissions team will guide you through the process of applying for your visa. To ensure you have enough time to secure your visa, we encourage you to apply early.

Transfer Students

The American University in Switzerland welcomes transfer students from international universities. For enquires related to the possibilities to transfer your credits to AUS please contact our team.

Required Application Documents

The admission requirements for all applicants include the completed application form and required admission documents listed below;

  • Passport
  • Digital Passport Sized Photo
  • Residential Permit (applicable to students living outside their home country)
  • Official High School and/or University Certificates, Diplomas and Transcripts
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency i.e. IELTS, TOEFL
  • Recommendation Letter (minimum one; maximum two)
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Motivation Letter (minimum 500 words)
  • Evidence of Sufficient Financial Means (bank statement or letter from you, parents or sponsor)

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I PAY THE REGISTRATION AND TUITION FEES?

Students can pay their tuition fees by bank transfer or online via credit card. Once we have received the complete application package, the admissions team will send you information about making the payments.

CAN I TRANSFER MY UNIVERSITY CREDITS TO AUS?

The American University in Switzerland accepts student transfers from other universities and business school. If you think you may be eligible to apply for credit transfer, please contact the AUS team.

I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO AUS. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

Pay the registration fee and confirm your intention to study at AUS by paying the first installment of the program. Upon receipt, we will send confirmation that you have secured your seat at AUS.

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR TUITION?

I HAVE PAID MY REGISTRATION FEE. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

Students who are coming to studying in Switzerland and are non-European Union citizens will require a visa to study in Switzerland. Once you have paid your registration fee and first installment of the program, the Admissions Team will contact you regarding the visa process and the steps required. They will ensure enough time is available for your visa to be processed. If you have any question you can contact the Admissions team directly.
For European Union and Non-European Union applicants, the tuition fee payment must be made before the start of the academic semester.

HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT ACCOMMODATION?

AUS has large availability of shared and single-room accommodation. Please contact the admissions team of your chosen campus for housing advice.

DO I NEED HEALTH INSURANCE?

Health Insurance is a mandatory requirement for all students studying in Switzerland. The American University in Switzerland has an agreement with an insurance provider where students can benefit from attractive rates. The Admissions team will provide you with the relevant information for you to set up your health insurance.

I HAVE PAID MY FEES AND RECEIVED A VISA. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The administration team will contact you with your class timetable before the beginning of the academic semester. Please contact us if you have any questions.
